Donia "Doris" Chess Tigler entered into eternal rest on Saturday, September 6, 2014 at West Jefferson Medical Center at 10a.m. Beloved mother of Shantell Chess, Troy (Jesse) and Oscar (Chandra) Tigler and the late Bruce Tigler. Foster mother of Cory Bethly and Catessa Weatherspoon. Grandmother of Troylynne, Tiffany, Jessica and Obraina Tigler, D'Quan Jenkins, Paul Belton and the late Daysha Tigler. Great grandmother of Colby Tigler. Daughter of the late Estelle Singleton and L. C. Chess of Carpenter, MS. Sister of Frances McDaniel, Katie Johnson, Robert Chess of CA, and the late Leotha Neal, J. C. Singleton and Leroy Singleton. Former wife of Oscar Tigler. Devoted friend of Debbie Pike; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 68 years, a native of Carpenter, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Little Zion #3 Baptist Church, and Progressive Church, priest and parishioners of Our Lady of the Angels Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Kinder Morgan (Delta Terminal), Our Lady of Wisdom, UPS (Morrison), and West Jefferson Medical Center are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Little Zion Baptist Church #3, 441 Wilson Rd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman D. Smith III, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
