Henry Leon Bryant

Henry Leon Bryant, age 93, the last surviving family member of his generation was peacefully called to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday, October 2, 2014. He was a native of Palestine, TX and a resident of Westwego, LA. Henry was employed as a Merchant Marine for 41 years and was known as "Slim" to his fellow sailors. He held various positions, sailing numerous ships as an active member of the Seamen's International Union and the National Maritime Union. Beloved husband of 59 years to the late Ruth Cora Simpson Bryant. Father of Bantu (Crispina), Henry (Wanda), Jacob (Joyce), and Albert (Charlotte) Bryant, Venetia (Lloyd, III) Meekins, Kimberly (Eric, Sr.) Pazon, Lynwell Wilson, and the late Pastel Bryant. Son of the late Jacob and Millie Bryant; also survived by 27 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 4 great great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
