Gloriden Kennedy Jones, a retired bus driver for Magnolia School for over 30 years, was called home on Wednesday, December 3, 2014. Devoted wife of Herman Jones. Mother of Debbie Simmons, Angela Simmons, Herman (Cemetria) Shelby, Katie (Patrick) Taylor, and the late Ernest Charles Simmons, Sr. Grandmother of the late Lamont Ellis Simmons. Daughter of the late Curtis and Louella Kennedy. Sister of Olivia Kennedy, Shirley (Ronnie) Coleman, Louella (Lionel) Winston, Harriet Matthews, Lavetra and Lorraine England, Curtis, Calvin, Jerome, Danny (Michelle) Kennedy, Robert (Cheryl) Kennedy and the late Loris and Warren Kennedy, also survived by 19 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 75 years a native of New Orleans, La. and a lifelong resident of Avondale, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the celebration of life at Second St. John Missionary Baptist Church 242 Avondale Garden Rd.
