Betty Jean Gullage Brooks, departed this life Wednesday, November 26, 2014 at home surrounded by her loved ones. Devoted wife of Maurice Brooks. Daughter of Alex and Ethel Henry, adopted daughter of the late Ruffas Gullage. Sister of Jeanette Houston, Carl Houston, Fred Houston, Eddie Houston, Sr., and the late Angel Henry and Antoinette McGee. Granddaughter of the late James Houston, Sr., and Missie Frazier-Houston. Godmother of Harold Patterson, also survived by 5 sisters in law, 2 brothers in law, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age: 52 years a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Israel Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Israel Baptist Church 1612 Estalote Dr. Harvey, LA on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 9:30AM. Rev. Johnny McKinnies officiating assisted by Rev. Bernard Dyer of Mount Rock Baptist Church. Visitation at 8:00AM until service time at the above named church.
