Nellie Gabriel Singleton

Nellie Gabriel Singleton, age 67, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Canon Hospice. She was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Waggaman, LA. Nellie was a retired employee of Avondale Shipyard where she worked as a ship fitter. Beloved wife of the late William Singleton. Loving mother of Venice Battle (Bryan) Cooper and the late Karen Battle Torrence. Grandmother of Bryan Cooper, Jr. and Janae Torrence. Daughter of the late Walter and Bonnie Gabriel. Sister of Maxine Gabriel Graham, Gloria Gabriel Rose and the late Walter Gabriel, Jr. and Kirk Gabriel. Godmother of Velda Gabriel Refuge; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Stephens Missionary Baptist Church, First Free Mission Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of Lincoln High School Class of 1966 are invited to attend the Funeral Service at First Free Mission Baptist Church, 426 Lamarque St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Norman Francis, officiating; Rev.
