Nellie Gabriel Singleton, age 67, entered into eternal life on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at Canon Hospice. She was a native of Gretna, LA and a resident of Waggaman, LA. Nellie was a retired employee of Avondale Shipyard where she worked as a ship fitter. Beloved wife of the late William Singleton. Loving mother of Venice Battle (Bryan) Cooper and the late Karen Battle Torrence. Grandmother of Bryan Cooper, Jr. and Janae Torrence. Daughter of the late Walter and Bonnie Gabriel. Sister of Maxine Gabriel Graham, Gloria Gabriel Rose and the late Walter Gabriel, Jr. and Kirk Gabriel. Godmother of Velda Gabriel Refuge; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
