Wilbert Milton Lewis, Sr., age 82, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Saturday, February 14, 2015. He was a native of Paincourtville, LA and a resident of Algiers, LA. Wilbert retired from Harvey Press after 50 years of service, and served his country as a member of the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Beloved husband of 50 years to the late Delores Lewis. Loving father of Lydia (the late Willie, Jr.) Ross, Dana (Floyd) Williams, Jason (Debra), Wilbert, Jr. (Rene), Darryl (Chris), and Lance (Dawn) Lewis and the late Eric and Gary Lewis. Son of the late Isiah and Lillian Lewis. Brother of Elizabeth Smith and the late George Lewis; also survived by 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Pleasant Zion Missionary Baptist Church, Second Baptist Church, Second Nazarine Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, First Agape Christian Outreach Church, St. Charles Baptist Church of Paincourtville, LA and all neighboring churches; employees of Uptown Graphics, Zeus Security of GA, Paragon Systems of GA, City of New Orleans Park and Parkways, Ruby Reds Restaurant, and United States Environmental Service are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Pleasant Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 3311 Toledano St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Kenneth Thompson, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
