Murray "Chief" Brumfield, a retired Business Owner / Floor Covering Mechanic, entered into eternal rest at Passages Hospice and Sanctuary on Friday, February 13, 2015. Husband of the late Willie Jean Brumfield. Father of Julia (Jeffrey) Vappie, Rev. Dr. Robert (Sharon) Brumfield, Gwendolyn Sedillo, Tammy (Larry) Clark, Derek, Damon (Alisha), and Patrick (Sandy) Brumfield, and the late Mark A. and Drexel Brumfield. Grandfather of the late Jalea Brumfield and Tiffany A. Cravinas. Son of the late Rev. Homer and Sybell Briggs Brumfield. Brother of Pearlie Mae Ware, Gertrude Bailey, and the late Lettie Walker, John David, Monroe, Hollie, Alexander, Arsinue, Peter, Richard, James, Arelus, and Albert Brumfield, also survived by 27 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 84 years a native of Bolivar, La. and a resident of New Orleans, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Union Bethel AME Church, Turner Chapel AME # 2 and neighboring churches; employees of Passages Hospice and Sanctuary, and residents of Nazareth Inn are invited to attend the funeral service at Union Bethel AME Church 2321 Thalia St. New Orleans, La. on Saturday, February 28, 2015 at 11:00a.m. Rev.
