Wallace "Sloopy" Christian, Jr. departed this life at his residence on Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at the age of 69. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Wallace was employed as a warehouseman at Acadian Factory Direct Flooring in Marrero, LA. Beloved father of Ruth Christian (Brian) Williams and Dariyan Jamar (Amanda) Griffin. Grandfather of Ryan and Alixx Williams, Brejion Griffin, Dennis and Amara Stokes. Son of the late Wallace "Berry" Christian, Sr. and Oris Raymond Christian. Nephew of Dolores O. Louis, Ethel B. Clinton, Neola "Myrtle" Smith, Elnora Scott, Ceola R. Dumas, Octavia Raymond and Wilfred (Oma) Odom of Gulfport, MS. Brother/Cousin of Wanda Gauff and Roland Odom. Devoted companion of Grace Matthews. Best friend of Jimmy Neal; also survived by a host of cousins, friends, and co-workers. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of the Historic True Vine Baptist Church, Household of Faith Family Worship Church International, Irish Channel Christian Fellowship and all neighboring churches; employees of Acadian Factory Direct Flooring, Jefferson Parish Parks and Recreation, and Williams Site Solutions; staff and students of Delgado Community College, Our Lady of Holy Cross School, Lake Castle Private School, Haynes Academy and Marrero Middle School are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Rev.
