Morris "Coach Blue" Harris departed this life on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the age of 64. Ta-Tan as he was affectionately known was a native of Lucy, LA and a resident of North Little Rock, AR. He was a graduate of George Washington Carver High School and attended Louisiana Tech University. Morris served his country as a member of the United States Army and was a retired educator and coach for the St. Charles Parish Public Schools. He was the former husband of Bernadette Triche and to this union two children were born A'Lisha Harris and A'Nitra (Brion) Isaac. Grandfather of Isaiah and Sir Henri' Harris. In 2010 Coach Blue married Beverly Garner Harris and became step-father to Kim Garner Ford and Darius (Danielle) Garner; step grandfather of Jaedyon Garner, Jalin and Dallas Ford. Son of the late Thelma and Celestin "Blue" Harris, Sr. Brother of Rev. Celestin (Eunice) Harris, Jr., Lionel Harris, Gary (Regina) Harris, Joyce Harris, A. Jennifer Penwright, Lydia Williams, Barbara Washington, Judy Lewis, Tammy Gordon and the late Randy Harris. Grandson of the late Cecile and Rev. James S. Powell, Sr., Morris and Izetta Harrison and Beatrice Hayes. Best friends whom he loved like brothers Brian and Glen Singleton; also survived by 3 godchildren and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousin, co-workers, fellow coaches, players, other relatives and friends. Coach Blue will be greatly missed by his family and all that his life touched. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Greater Mt.
