Joycelyn Levy Francis

Joycelyn Levy Francis ascended into Heaven's Gates on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at the age of 70 years young. Loving mother of Bobbie Edgar Francis, Jr. and Catherine Francis (Derek) Beloney. Grandmother of Ernest Francis, Teshawn Francis and Ca'Terra Bates. Great-grandmother of Elisa Jhene Francis, Damello Francis and K'Jae Calloway. Daughter of Geneieve Levy and the late Samuel Levy. Sister of Jacquelyn Levy Jackson; also survived by a host of many other loving family and friends. She was a native and resident of Algiers, LA. Joyce was a graduate of L. B. Landry High School and Katie's Beauty College. Ms. Joyce or Maw Maw, as she was affectionately called was not only a licensed beautician; she was also employed as an administrative assistant with HANO until her retirement in 2005. Her entrepreneurship inspired her to become a shopkeeper, selling numerous goodies to her friends and neighbors. Maw Maw will truly be missed. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church, 1441 Teche St. New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:30a.m Visitation will begin at 9:30a.m until service time at the above named church.
