Clarence Joseph Mitchell, Jr., age 74, passed away at his residence on Friday, March 27, 2015. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. He was a veteran of the United States Army and a longtime employee of the Tulane University Machine Shop. Beloved husband of Catherine Stuart Mitchell. Loving father of Clarence Joseph Mitchell III, and John Roy (Ruth) Mitchell. Devoted grandfather of Jeannice, Darian, John II, Samantha, Anitra and D'ahna. Son of the late Clarence Joseph Mitchell, Sr. and Helena Batiste Mitchell. Brother of John O. Mitchell, Edward Francis Mitchell, and Carol Mitchell. Brother-in-law of Mary Louise Creighton, Joan Stuart Nettles, Geraldine Levy, Darlene Mitchell, Gladys Mitchell and the late Rosalie Karrattti and Marjorie Mitchell; also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; members of Xavier Prep Class of 1959; employees of NOPD, Tulane University Machine Shop, Fortier High School, Davita Dialysis, and Touro Hospital are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, 6201 Strafford Place New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
