Audrey Stewart Walters

AUDREY MAE STEWART WALTERS, a native of Vacherie, La. and resident of Marrero, La. exchanged life for eternity at the age of 91 on Saturday, April 4, 2015 at her residence. She served as the Mother of the church and was a founding member at Second Highway B.C. in Marrero. Daughter of the late Mahalia Johnson Stewart and Isaac Stewart. Loving wife of the late Ernest Walters, Sr. Mother of Ernest Walters, Jr., Calvin A. Walters, Thomas (Loma) Walters, Audrey Walters, Rudolph (Patricia) Walters, Betty Walters, Wayne (Carmen) Walters, Jackie (Marie) Walters, Judy Williams, devoted nephew/son Robert (Dorothy) Thomas and the late Raymond (Rozella) Walters. Sister of Feliska Taylor of Vacherie, La. and the late Thelma Morris, Elwood, Thomas, O'neal, Morris & Cleveland Stewart. Close cousin of Essie Mae Lemieux, Helen Davis and Dorothy "Penny" Batiste. Godmother of Shelia Landrum, also survived by 27 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 14 great great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second Highway Baptist Church, First Baptist Church, Highway B.C. of Vacherie, Zion Travelers Missionary B.C. of Laplace, Second Zion B.C. of Marrero, Household of Faith Ministries, Temple of Praise Ministries of Harvey and all surrounding churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Second Highway Baptist Church, 1533 Haydel Dr., Marrero, La. on. Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be from 8:00a.m. until 10:00a.m.at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery- Avondale, La.
