Clara Dennis Batiste, a retired Jefferson Parish School Cafeteria Worker, departed this life on Thursday, May 28, 2015 at her daughter's home. She was a native of St. James, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Beloved wife of the late James Batiste, Sr. Devoted mother of Luester Blair and the late Stella Jefferson, James Batiste, Jr., Russell Batieste and Clara Fisher. Grandmother of the late Gwendolyn, Clyde and David Jefferson. Daughter of the late Manuel and Carrie Dennis. Sister of the late Stella Batiste, Ada Jones, Russell Dennis and Laura Green; also survived by 11 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 29 great great grandchildren, 4 great great great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; Daughter of Marrero #41 Eastern Star, Westside Community Senior Citizen Ministry and members of People of Ages are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, 236 Robinson Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Melvin C.
