Matthew Vaughan

Matthew Vaughan departed this life at his residence on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at the age of 66. He was a native of Yazoo City, MS and a resident of Marrero, LA. Matthew was a graduate of Lincoln High School and Holy Cross College. He was employed as a Project Manager at the Jefferson Parish Courthouse until his health began to decline. For his bravery as a member of the U.S. Army he was awarded the Purple Heart. Loving father of Matthew Shaun (Tiffany Honor) Vaughan, Sr. Son of the late Sam and Teatta Vaughan. Brother of Freddie, Will and Clifton Vaughan, Vera Vaughan Holmes, Ida V. Williams and the late Charles, Frank, Theodola "Jim" and Herman Vaughan; also survived by 3 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 3512 Hwy 90 West Avondale, LA on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Elder Sean Elder, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church.
