Phillip Joseph Mitchell, Jr., a retired carpenter, passed away on Monday, June 15, 2015 at the age of 75. He was a native New Orleans, LA and a resident of Algiers, LA for many years. Beloved husband of Ceola Dorsey Mitchell. Father of Monica A. Mitchell and Phillip Joseph Mitchell, III. Stepfather of Albert Andrews and Kenny Dorsey. Grandfather of Gabrielle Mitchell and Xaiver Mitchell. Son of the late Phillip Mitchell, Sr. and Evelyn Johnson Mitchell. Brother of Patricia Young and Ethel Simpson. Stepbrother of Alice Grant and Margaret Rodney; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends.
