Luverta Gordon Clofer

Luverta Gordon Clofer received her heavenly crown on Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at the age of 92. She was a native of Wallace, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA for 70 years. Everyone who came in contact with Luverta encountered the heavenly spirit she had. Her mission in life was to get everyone saved and in church. She opened her home and heart to everyone, often saying if you are blessed it would be ungodly not to share your blessings. Beloved wife of 56 years to the late Willard Clofer, Sr. Devoted mother of Rosalie Beckwith, Willard, Jr. (Carrie), Willis (Rhonda), Adam, Sr. (Diane), Hayward, Sr. (Lois) and the late Erneal, Leroy, Bobby, Alfrid and Wilhemenia Clofer. Daughter of the late Elmonia and Isaac Gordon, Sr. Sister of the late Wilberene "Beana" Jackson, Rebecca Marshall, Wilbert, Robert, Edward, Samuel, Easter, Venus, Isreal and Isaac Gordon. Devoted caregiver and granddaughter Fayette (Carter) Alexander. Sister-in-law of Leah Stewart, Betty Love, Velma Poche, Hazel Clofer, Sylvia Clofer, Milton Clofer and Lanny Clofer; also survived by 60 grandchildren, 90 great grandchildren, 45 great great grandchildren, over 250 nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Rock of Ages B.C. Church, Regular B. C., St. Joseph Missionary B. C., Temple of Praise Ministries, Bethel Outreach Ministry, New Zion B. C., Jesus Christ Apostolic Lighthouse, Morning Star B. C. and all neighboring churches; employees of Touro Infirmary, Jefferson Parish Sewerage Dept., Ochsner Heart Clinic of Louisiana, Family Doctors and Acts Home Health are invited to attend the Homegoing Celebration at Rock of Ages Baptist Church, 6533 Acre Rd.
