Lawrence "PaPa" Thompson, Sr., a retired truck driver, departed this life at Jo Ellen Smith Convalescent Center on Saturday, July 11, 2015. Husband of the late Helen Thompson. Father of Lawrence Thompson, Jr. and James Johnson. Son of the late Lawrence Thompson and Christina Smith. Preceded in death by 1 brother and 3 sisters; also survived by 3 stepchildren, 7 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and a host of other relatives and friends. Age: 89 years, a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the parlor.
