Marion Nelson

Marion Nelson, age 60, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at her residence in Marrero, LA. Marion was a graduate of L. W. Higgins High School and attended Delgado Community College. Beloved daughter of the late Gus and Ethel Nelson. Loving sister of Gloria "Barbara" Keller, Harold Nelson, Eloise Duckett, Deanna Simon and the late Yvonne Bottley and Herman Nelson. Sister-in-law of Eliot Keller, Betty Nelson and Roy Simon. Goddaughter of the late Rev. Joseph and Alonia Howard; also survived by family friend Eddie Landix and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Zion BC, Greater St. Stephens FGBC, Fifth African BC, Morning Star MBC, St. Mary BC, Fulfilling the Gospel Ministries International, Bethany Church, New Home Ministries, priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Employment Assistance Service, West Jefferson Medical Center, New Orleans Job Corp Center, Tulane Hospital, Jefferson Parish Schools, Ochsner Hospital and Heart of Hospice are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Zion Baptist Church, 1131 Garden Rd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Austin Dennis, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
