Sherman Joseph Lemieux, Sr., a retired longshoreman for Stratchen Shipping ILA # 1416, entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 3, 2015 at 11:00p.m. Husband of the late RoseMary Joseph Lemieux. Father of Karen Favorite, Carla (Reginald) Simmons, Tracy (Steve) Turnage, Terri (Charles, Sr.) LaSalle, Derrick (Juanita) Lemieux, Sr., and Sherman (Catherline) Stewart. Son of the late Herbert Lemieux and Elizabeth Boudreaux Lemieux. Brother of the late Raymond Lemieux, Collins Lemieux, Norman Lemieux, and Mazie Robinson. Nephew of Leotha Lemieux Jones; also survived by 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Age: 80 years a native of St. James Parish, La. and a resident of Harvey, La. Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and neighboring churches; employees of Ochsner Foundation, Jefferson Parish School Board, Mackie One Roofing Co, Jefferson Parish Inspection and Code Enforcement/Property Maintenance and Evonik Chemical Plant are invited to attend the mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, La. on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11:00a.m. Father Eugene Jacques celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. and recitation of the rosary at 9:30a.m. at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, La.
