Lionel Winchester, age 60, departed this life on Thursday, August 13, 2015 at The Carpenter House in River Ridge, LA. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Loving father of Alisha Jones, Juanita Fleming, Adrienne Sterling, Lionisha Thomas, JeDawn Brown, Lionel Brown, Timothy and Calvin Casby. Grandfather of Trishar Thomas, Jasmaine, Aaliyah and Aalayah Fleming, Jared, Jeremy, Jeremiah, Makaley and Derric Sterling, Jr., Kathlynn Jones, Tamia, Talayah, Kyron, Audrey and Jameson Casby. Son of Leola Winchester and the late Lawrence Winchester, Sr. Grandson of the late August and Louise Winchester and Elijah and Ora Thomas. Brother of Lawrence, Jr. (Elizabeth), Donald (Rose), and David (Lurdia) Winchester, Barbara Washington, Doris Winchester, Rosalie (Ronald) Barton, Betty Harris, Carolyn (Morris) Sambrone, Sandra (Rick) Stevens, Sandra Junior, Monique (Rocky) Logan, and the late James Thomas. Brother-in-law of Olidia Thomas. Godfather of Trene W. Porter, Gerald Harris, Jr. and the late DeJounique D. Harris. Preceded in death by 3 aunts, 2 uncles, 4 nieces, 2 nephews and 2 brothers-in-law; also survived by a devoted family friend whom he loved like an grandmother Ethel Mae Davis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
