Cora Florent Champ entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at her residence. Wife of the late Easton Joseph Champ. Beloved mother of Raymond (Beverly) Coster, Russell Champ, Leroy Champ, Kent Champ, Yvonne Champ (Charles Dewayne) Landry, Debra Champ (Kevin) Batiste, and the late Bernard Champ. Daughter of the late Marshall and Albertine Jeffrey Florent, also survived by 23 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 96 years a native of Vacherie, La. and a resident of Marrero, La. Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of St. Joseph Baptist Church, Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of New Orleans Transit Authority, Avondale Shipyard, Lighthouse for the Blind, and LA State Office of Social Services/ Disability Determinations Services are invited to attend the funeral service at St. Joseph Baptist Church 236 Robinson Ave. Marrero, La. on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Melvin C. Zeno officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: First Baptist Church Cemetery-Vacherie, La.
