Dorothia Nell Ellis Walker entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus. She retired from Lakeside Hospital as a housekeeping supervisor after many years of service. Beloved wife of Henry Jones. Loving mother of Verna Dorsey, Sidney, Stanley, Ronnie and Rickey Walker. Daughter of the late Vivian Ellis and J P Ellis. Sister of Melvin, Harold and Donald Ellis, Mary Tyler, Linda Fay Catchings, Doris Barnes and the late Earl, Lynell and Louis Ellis. Former wife of the late L M Walker; also survived by 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 74 years, a native of Hazelhurst, MS and a resident of Bridge City, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of First Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish Department of Public Works, Daltile, and Red White and Blue Thrift Store are invited to attend the Funeral Service at First Zion Baptist Church, 1221 Causeway Blvd. Jefferson, LA on Saturday, August 22, 215 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Thomas Nunnery, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
