Jessie M. Pettis Young Tate, a retired accounts payable clerk, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, November 8, 2015 at her residence. Beloved wife of Irvin Tate, Jr. Mother of Denise (Pastor Cary) Payton, Micheal K. (Mary Ann) Ford, Sr., and Michelle Hughes. Daughter of the late Dan and Sarah Pettis. Sister of Geneva Pettis, Debra (Leo) Jones, and the late Isiah Pettis of Anchorage, AK, Annie Merle Price, and Elizabeth Carter, also survived by 7 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 75 years a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Pilgrim Progress Baptist Church 3600 Loyola Ave. New Orleans, LA on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Melvin Johnson Officiating Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
