Pocha Aline Simmons Bright, age 74, departed this life for her heavenly home on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at East Jefferson General Hospital. She was a native of Scottville, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA. Pocha was a retired employee of Tulane University Medical Center. Loving wife of James Bright. Devoted mother of Pastor Darryl Victor (Antoinette) Phoenix, Pastor Leroy John (Cindy) Phoenix, Sr., and Corey Phoenix. Grandmother of Regnia, Leroy, Jr. (Tiesha), Courtney and Akhai Phoenix. Great-grandmother of Kimora and Keymani Emfinger, Leyah Magee, Tanai White and Leroy Phoenix, III. Daughter of the late Vincent and Mildred Simmons. Sister of Victor (Vivian) Simmons, Sr., Helen Brown, Penelope (Arthur) Blakley, Bernadette (Douglas) White, Elaine Armstead, and the late Evelyn Simmons, Aleria Jefferson, JoAnn Rice, Rudolph Simmons, Sr., Harold Simmons, Sr. and Hannibal Simmons, Sr.; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
