Arthur Simmons, age 68, departed this life at Canon Hospice on Wednesday, December 9, 2015. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Arthur was a retired employee of Bunge Corp. and a former employee of Avondale Shipyard and Northrup Grumman. Beloved husband of the late Willie Mae Simmons. Loving father of Tonya (Jerome) Jarrow, Steven Simmons, Larenza Simmons, Timothy Simmons and Lindsey Simmons. Son of the late Ervin Simmons, Sr., and Ardina Wilson-Simmons. Brother of Joseph Simmons, Earline Johnson, Geraldine Lewis, Ardena McTear, Gloria Walker and the late Lloyd, Charles, Harold and Ervin Simmons, Jr. Brother-in-law of Joyce Simmons; also survived by 7 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor.
