Elton Anderson, Sr

Elton “Slim” Anderson, Sr. departed this life on Tuesday, December 8, 2015.   Devoted and wonderful husband of Orelia Henry Anderson for 64 years. Beloved father of Elton, Jr. (Delores), Bernell (Gail) and Robert (Cynthia) Anderson, Gay Henderson and Geraldine H. Robinson, whom he reared as a daughter. Grandfather of the late Jazmine, Famous, and Lana. Son of the late Albert, Sr. and Lucy Crawford Anderson. Brother of Joseph “Joe” and Kermit “Tom” Anderson and the late Rebbeca Jimcoily, Albert, Jr., Warren and Helen Anderson. Son-in-law of the late Robert, Sr., and Stella Henry. Close friends of Curtis Price, Bernell Duplessis, George Benn and Rendell Riley; also survived by 20 grandchildren, 43 great grandchildren, 7 great great grandchildren, 7 godchildren, and a host of sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.   Age: 87 years, a native and a lifelong resident of Algiers, LA. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Nazarine Baptist Church, Second Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Courteous Care Inc., and Delgado Community College are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Nazarine Baptist Church, 3062 Boyd St. Algiers, LA on Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 10:00a.m. Rev. Peter L. Crawford, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time.  Interment: Eureka Cemetery-Algiers, LA
