Jerry Lee Jones, Sr.

Jerry “Check” Lee Jones, Sr., age 64, departed this life on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at his residence. He was native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Jerry was a 1969 graduate of Lincoln High School and a retired electrician of Avondale Shipyard. Son of the late Paul Jones, Sr. and Geneva Reed Jones. Stepson of Alean B. Jones. Beloved friend of Betty Duplessis. Loving father of Jerry Jones, Jr., Tina Jefferson, Jeremy Jefferson, Tytell Davis and Anthony Jefferson. Stepfather of Tishiba Warner, Eureka, Don and Timmie Duplessis. Brother of Keithen Jones, Paul Clair, Patrick Jones, Wayne Briggs, Robert Briggs, Dorothy Reed, Ida Jackson, Paulette Smith, Darlene Millsaps, Sharon Briggs and the late Amos Ray Jones, Paul Jones, Jr., Elias Jones, Ronnie Jones and Darryl Briggs. Nephew of Charles Jackson, Ophelia Smith, Delores Collins and Joanna Dee; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, Total Armour of God Ministries, Great Zionfield Family Worship, Cornerstone Full Gospel Fellowship, The Word Work Ministries, Anointed Word Ministries, Sunrise Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of East Jefferson General Hospital, Shalom Home Care, JPSHA-Waver and Bistro on the Bayou of Alexandria, LA are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1419 4th St. Marrero, LA on Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00a.m. Pastor Woodrow Hayden, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
