Virdia Mae Walker Cannady peacefully entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Medical Center on Sunday, December 27, 2015 at the age of 81. She was a native of Jacoby, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Devoted mother of Jacqueline Chopin, Tuesday Noah and the late Rose M. Sherman, Rod and Charles Cannady. Daughter of the late James Walker, Sr. and Amy Parker Walker. Sister of Louis Walker, Sr., Thomas Walker, Sr., Michael (Joann) Walker, Olivia Bland, Urilee (Charles, Sr.) Britton, Dianne Rose and the late William Walker, Sr., Robert Walker, Sr., James Walker, Jr., Joyce Marie Walker and Gloria Walker Barker. Former wife of the late Lee Cannady; also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, members of First Love Baptist Church, True Vine Baptist Church, priest and parishioners of Holy Cross Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Azalea Bingo Hall, Housing Authority of New Orleans and First Lake Properties are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Davis Mortuary Service, 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA on Monday, January 4, 2016 at 11:00a.m. Rev.
