Samuel Ellis, Jr. entered into eternal rest at West Jefferson Health Care Center on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at the age of 65. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Samuel was a graduate of Lincoln High School and served his country as a member of the United States Army. Loving father of Evangeline “Lynn” Ellis (Peter) and Eynus (Jennifer) Ellis. Son of Dorothy Rosemore Ellis Hunter and the late Samuel Ellis, Sr. Stepson of the late Clarence Hunter, Sr. Grandson of the late Ellen Hicks-Baptiste. Brother of Clarence, Jr., Darrell (Danielle), Lawrence (Betty), Reginald, Terrance (Taisha), Paul, Christopher, and Malcolm (LaKisha) Hunter, Delores Jenkins, Gloria Green, Anne Mae Lanaute, Evangelist Amender Smith, Corliss (Robert) Garner and Jacqueline (Jack) Scott; also survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Second Good Shepherd Baptist Church, Evening Star Baptist Church, Morning Star Baptist Church, Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of West Jefferson Health Care Center are invited to attend the Funeral Service at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 6820 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY MARRERO, LA on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 9:30a.m. Rev.
