Shirley Mae Poleate

Shirley Mae Singleton Poleate, age 65, peacefully entered into eternal rest on January 14, 2016 at Ochsner Medical Center Main Campus. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harvey, LA. Loving mother Merrill David Robinson, John Anthony Poleate, Daron Singleton Hameen, and Emerald Lee. Daughter of the late Lawrence and Violet Carter Singleton. Granddaughter of the late Frank and Edna Carter, and Andrew and Rebecca Singleton. Sister of Clarence, Lawrence, Alfred, Sr., Cedric, Sidney, Earnest and Lester Singleton, Viola Singleton Hall and the late Samuel, Frank Ronald and Ben Singleton; also survived by 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Asia Baptist Church, Morning Star Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Children’s Hospital, West Jefferson Medical Center, Ochsner Medical Center, Americare Home Health, Bethesda Medical Group, Oceans Behavioral Hospital, and The Real Pie Man; members of My Brother’s Keepers MC and Louisiana Chain MC are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Asia Baptist Church, 1400 Sere St., New Orleans, LA on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Kenneth G. Thibodeaux, officiating

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
