Albert Ray Sias

Albert Ray Sias peacefully went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at the age of 73. He was a native of Nairn, LA and a resident of Belle Chasse, LA. Ray proudly served his country for 6 years as a member of the United States Navy. He was a retired Recreation Director of Plaquemines Parish Government, where he dedicated his life to mentoring and challenging youth to maximize their athletic potential. Loving husband of Isabelle Melvina Sias. Son of the late Albert Sias and Eliska Williams Mahoney.   Devoted father of Tia Kasaune Matthews and the late Michael Sias. Proud grandfather of Michaela and Sydney Sias, Mark and Sean Matthews. Father-in-law of Lisa Gressel and SFC Mark C. Matthews. Devoted nephew of Edna Thornton; also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 8968 Hwy 23 Belle Chasse, LA on Thursday, February 4, 2016 at 11:00a.m. Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
