Marie “Dorris” Smith, a retired employee of Charity Hospital, entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 12, 2016 at her residence. Wife of the late Alfred D. Smith, Sr. Beloved mother of Nellrose Murry, Joseph Smith, Alfred Smith, Jr., Marion Smith, Patricia Jackson, Sheila Clayborne, Ella IBiam, Carolyn Nellon and the late Veronica Robinson and Lisa Smith. Daughter of the late Mary G. Barker and Wiston Barker. Sister of Allen Barker, Peston Barker, David Barker, Shirley Smith, Vinen Hebert, Patricia Barker, Mary Calvin and the late Weston Barker, Larry Barker, and Glufield Barker. Sister in law of Madeline and Rose Marie, also survived by 33 grandchildren, 54 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Age: 85 years a native of Lafayette, LA and a resident of Algiers, LA. Relatives and friends of the family also priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at All Saints Catholic Church 1441 Teche St. Algiers, LA. on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Father Peter Weiss, SSJ Celebrant Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service time at the above named church.
