Edward Taylor, Jr.

Edward “Poppa” Taylor, Jr. went to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at his residence at the age of 87. He was a native Winchester, TN and resident of New Orleans, LA. Edward retired from the United States Navy after 21 of service and VA Hospital after 23 years as a cook .

Loving husband of 39 years to Melba Maxine Taylor. Father of Charles Edward Brannon, Constance “Connie” Graham, Linda (Stanley) Battles, Karen (Tawn) Green and Gail A. Graham. Son of the late Edward, Sr. and Della Taylor. Brother of the late Hulin, Jessie, R J, Bryan, Annie, and Elar Taylor, Gracy Allgood, Ella Hill, and Gladys Gray. Brother in law of Anthony (Dorothy) Lowery, Kenneth Ray Johnson, and Deborah (Paul) Stanley. Devoted Uncle of Donnie (CJ) Gray, Joyce Ann Tarrant, Shirley Smith, Frances Burton, and Rosella Taylor, also survived by 17 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren other relatives and friends

Relatives and friend of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Second Baptist Church and neighboring churches; members of Masonic Temple Temar Mt. Paran Lodge No. 1 are invited to attend the memorial service Davis Mortuary Service 230 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at 10:00a.m.
