Elsie Lewis

Elsie Veronica Howard Lewis peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at the age of 77. She was a native of New Orleans, LA, a resident of Lawrenceville, GA after Hurricane Katrina and presently residing in Harvey, LA. Elsie retired from the Orleans Parish School Board after 30 plus years as a Cafeteria Manager. Loving mother of Monica (Cornell) Davis, Daniel Lewis, Stephanie Lewis, and Kathy (Jyronne) Gould. Daughter of late Harthania and Willie Howard. Sister of Douglas (Hilda) Howard, Richard (Linda) Howard, and Lorraine (Allen) McMillan. Devoted friend of the late Fannel Howard; also survived by 23 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also priest, and parishioners of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; members of McDonogh #35 Class of 1956 are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Phillip St., New Orleans, LA on Friday, February 26, 2016 at 11:00a.m. Father J. Asara Dankwah, celebrant

Visitation will begin at 10:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
