Jerry Joseph Petty, Sr. , a retired Seaman, departed this life at his residence on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at the age of 67. He was a native of Barataria, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Devoted father of Jerry (Natasha) Petty, Jr. and Chad (ShaRonda) Petty. Son of the late Joseph B. Petty and Stella A. Petty. Grandson of the late Harry and Alice Adams, Joseph Petty and Bretha Forges. Brother of Sherman Petty, Gloria LaCour, Audry Bouisse, Lorraine Petty, GayAnn Palmer, Nadine Starks, and the late Aline and Nathan Petty. Devoted friend of Sylvia Brown; also survived by 9 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St Paul Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St Paul Baptist Church, 1509 Monroe St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10:00a.m.

Pastor Orin Grant, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Greater St John Baptist Church Cemetery-Barataria, LA
