Tyrone Collier

Tyrone Collier peacefully entered into eternal rest on Friday, March 25, 2016 at the age of 48. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. He was a graduate of John Ehret High School and attended Jefferson Parish Vocational Technical Institute. Tyrone was a former employee of the Jefferson Parish School System, at L. W. Higgins High School, where he worked as an Assistant Plant Manager. Husband of Shawnda Benn Collier. Loving father of Irian Scott and Tyrean Collier. Son of the late Emile John Collier, Jeanette Barnett Collier and Cassie Barnett. Grandson of the late Linnie Barnett and Adkin Eugene Barnett. Brother of Alvin Richardson, Jeanester Rodrigue, Elvira (the late Nelson) Freeman, Lynette Crawford, Jackie (Fred) Beauford and the late Larry Barnett and Syrina Lang; also survived by 3 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Asbury United Methodist Church, Second Baptist Church, Second Nazarine Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; staff and student of L. W. Higgins High School are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, 1000 Walkertown Way, Marrero, LA on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Thomas J. Brown, Jr., officiating Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m.-9:50a.m. ONLY at the above named church. Interment: McDonoghville Cemetery-Gretna, LA
