Betty Wilson Johnson

Elder Betty Jean Wilson Johnson peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, April 4, 2016 at the age of 74. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Elder Betty was a retired accountant of Freeport McMoran Corporation.   Beloved wife of Elder Lionel Johnson, Sr. Loving mother of Lionel (Mary) Johnson, Sr., Leslie Patrick Walters, and Sonya Patrick Sherman. Grandmother of Eric C. Walter, Ericka Butler, Lionel McKenzie Johnson, Damion, Diana and Faith Johnson. Daughter of the late Joseph Wilson, Sr. and Ethel Smith Wilson. Sister of Sedonia (Felton) Langlois, Elder Joseph (Inez) Wilson, Jr., Elder Charles (Dianne) Wilson, Gilbert A. (Emma) Wilson, and the late Andrew Paul Wilson and Gilbert A. Wilson. Sister-in-law of Isreal (Lorraine) Johnson, Sr. Adopted sister of Pat Randal and Mary Conerly. Aunt of the late Coty Wilson. Mother-in-law of the late Eric Clarence Walter, Sr. and Jeff Sherman; also survived by 6 nieces, 8 nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, Greater St. Stephens FGBC and all neighboring churches; members of Joseph S. Clark Senior School Class of 1959 are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, 3512 Hwy 90 W, Avondale, LA on Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 10:00a.m.
