Geraldine Burras Gooseberry

Geraldine “Mama Dean” Burras Gooseberry peacefully entered into eternal rest at her residence on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at the age of 81. She was a native of Jefferson Parish and a resident of Harvey, LA. Geraldine was a retired Manager/Kitchen Supervisor of Creole Delicacies. Devoted mother of Toni Burras (Bryant) Boyer. Loving grandmother of Brian (Tameke) Woodruff, Sr. and Keshondra Woodruff. Daughter of the late George, Sr. and Sallie B Burras. Granddaughter of the late Pauline Green. Sister of William (Irene), Elmo, James, Ernest, Percy, Morris, Jacqueline, Bernadette, Brenda, and Cheryl Burras, Terry and Deborah Small, and the late George, Jr., Edward, Sr., Warren, Sr. and Phil Burras, Sr. Niece of Minnie Burkes, Edna Clark the late Joseph W. Burkes, Jr. and Jane Riggins; also survived by 4 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by 1 grandchild, 1 great grandchild, 1 sister and 1 sister-in-law.  

Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Evening Star Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Evening Star Baptist Church, 817 Grefer Ave. Harvey, LA on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10:00a.m.

Pastor Keith Paul Stewman, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Evening Star Cemetery #1-Harvey, LA
