Rebecca Carter Williams

Rebecca Carter Williams, a homemaker, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at the age of 94. She was a native of Houma, LA and a lifelong resident of Marrero, LA. Rebecca was a member of St. Mary Baptist Church for more than 80 years, and served as past president of the Usher Board. With a willingness to serve in the church she was a former corresponding secretary of the Usher Board of the Westside Missionary Baptist Association. Beloved wife of 56 years to the late Eddie Williams, Sr. Loving mother of Eddie (Geraldine) Williams, Jr., Bernice Williams (Alca) Schexnider, Isaiah (Mattie) Williams, Charles R. Williams, Sr., Clarence (Ida) Williams, Sr., Melvin (Cherylyn) Williams, Michael J. Williams, Kenneth J. Williams and the late Shirley Williams Pharr. Daughter of Perry and Bertha Simmons Carter. Sister of the late Helen Carter Jackson, Albert, Sr., Robert and Perry Carter, Jr. Devoted aunt of Claudette Boudreaux Fennidy. Sister-in-law of Gloria Carter; also survived by 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren. 2 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Mary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Mary Baptist Church, 6223 6th Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Edward Joseph III, officiating

Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church.
