Debra Ann Hooper

Debra Ann Hooper, age 63, departed this life on Friday, April 15, 2016 at Ochsner Medical Center Westbank. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA. Devoted mother of Paula Hooper and Michael Hooper. Daughter of the late Dorothy Costly Batiste and Harold Hooper, Sr. Granddaughter of the late Isabel Costly, Benny Costly, Sr., Silica Edwards and Sandy Hooper. Sister of Harold Hooper, Jr., Earal Hooper, Brian Hooper, Barbara Williams, Causandra Phillips, Gayle Bartholomew, Tira Jones and the late Kenneth Batiste. Sister-in-law of the late Clarence Jones, Sr.; also survived by 2 grandchildren, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by 3 aunts and 3 uncles. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Second Zion Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; members of Royal Priesthood Mission Ministry International; employees of Jo Ellen Smith Living Center and Alumni of Lincoln High School are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Second Zion Baptist Church, 6520 Second Zion Ave. Marrero, LA on Saturday, April 23, 2016 at 10:00a.m.

Pastor James Nelson Brown, officiating Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named church. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA
