John Maddock Varnado, age 71, transitioned into eternal rest on Saturday, April 16, 2016. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Marrero, LA.  Devoted husband of 51 years to Lois Brown Varnado. Loving father of Savern Joseph (Camellia), Jason Jamal and the late Brian Keith Varnado. Grandfather father of Chad Chistopher (Jazmine), Alexis Brooke, Ashley Marquel, Iralisha Deon, Sydney Joy, Emmanuel, Emily, Jeremiah, Naomi and Charity Ann. Great grandfather of Christian Prince and Kelly Terrell. Son of the late Roosevelt, Sr. and Majorie Varnado. Brother of Josephine (Charles) Garrison, Roosevelt (Alisha), Ronald, Savern David (Linda), Chris, Louis (Annette), Tony, Anthony (Susanne), and the late Donald (Renelda) and Julie Teresa Varnado. Son in law of the late Bennie and Viola Brown Allen. Brother-in-law of James (the late Doris) Walker, Chauncey and Gail Jones, Gerard and Gretchen Williams, Charles and Fannie Williams. Devoted cousin of Yvonne Osborne; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring church; members of the Lincoln High School Class of 1963; employees of the Jefferson Parish Public Works Department are invited to attend the Funeral Service at St. Joseph Missionary Baptist Church, 236 Robinson Ave. Marrero, LA on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 10:00a.m.
