Mary Peterson

Mary McKnight Peterson departed this life at West Jefferson Medical Center on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the age of 82. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Avondale, LA. Beloved wife of the late Andrew Noble Peterson. Loving mother of Melva Thomas, Sandra Wilson of Atlanta, GA and Rhonda Dunbar. Daughter of the late Edgar McKnight, Sr. and Melva McKnight. Sister of the late Edgar McKnight, Jr., Ruby Baptist and Selena McKnight; also survived by 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Hope Baptist Church and all neighboring churches; employees of Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office Crossing Guards are invited to attend the Funeral Service at New Hope Baptist Church, 434 7th St. Gretna, LA on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at 10:00a.m.

Pastor Warren E. Johnson, officiating Visitation will begin at 9:00a.m. until service time at the church. Interment: Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery-Westwego, LA
