Joseph Reginald Onezine, Sr.

Joseph “Joe” Reginald Onezine, Sr. entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at his residence at the age of 83. He was a native of Donaldsonville, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA for 50 years. Devoted husband of Iola Eugene Onezine. Beloved father of Deirdre Onezine (Milton) Simmons, Michael (Trina) Joseph, Gwendolyn, Lionel and Melvin Dillion, and the late Yolanda Dillion and Joseph Reginald Onezine, Jr. Stepfather of Debra Walker, Myra Weatherspoon, Laura Simmons, and the late Bruce Simmons. Son of the late Edward and Olivia Hall Onezine. Brother of Norman Onezine and the late Fannie Mae Morton, Mary Gibson, Genevie Johnson, Edward, and Victor Onezine. Godfather of Doretha Gibson of Oakland, CA and Sheila Ketchens, also survived by 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, members of Progressive Church, Greater Mount Calvary Church, New Home Ministries, Fellowship MBC, True Vine MBC, priest and parishioners of Our Lady of Prompt Soccer Catholic Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the funeral service at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Saturday, May 21, 2016 at 10a.m. Rev Albert J. Ketchens, Sr. officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00a.m. until service time at the above named parlor. Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery, Avondale, LA.
