Aletha Hills

Aletha West Allen Hills peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2016 at West Jefferson Medical Center at the age of 98. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a lifelong resident of Gretna, LA. Beloved wife by 1st marriage to the late Pastor Henry A. Allen, Sr. and by 2nd marriage to the late Louis Hills. Devoted mother of Russell J. (Edwina) Brown, Sr., Henry A. Allen, Jr., and the late Clara M. Allen, Raymond Allen and Bernice A. Thorn. Special great-grandmother of Kadeem Allen. Daughter of the late Lillian Brown and William “Flip” West. Granddaughter of the late Johnson and Clara Brown Moses. Sister of the late James West, Sr. and Mary B. Jenkins. Loving godmother of Venassa Hawkins of Baton Rouge, LA, Victor Hills, Raynell Jones and John “Buddy” Hall all of Gretna, LA; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, New Hope Baptist Church, Regular Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church, 701 Huey P.
