Calvin Wayne Cornelius

Calvin Wayne Cornelius, age 70, died peacefully in his sleep at his home on Thursday, May 26, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his mother, the late Hazel Wattree Robinson and his father, the late Joe Cornelius. He is survived by his children: Damon and Darren Cornelius, Daphne Cornelius Bouyer, and Julia Smith. He also leaves behind five grandchildren; Marissa Lucus, Dahran Thomas, Jared Turner, Ty Bouyer, and Laila Bouyer, two great grandchildren, Nyla Diaz and Cameron Harris, plus other family members and friends.

Calvin was born on July 10, 1945, in Minden, LA, where he spent his childhood. He attended Southern University in Baton Rouge. He was an electrician at Northrop Grumman, formerly known as Avondale, Shipyards. Calvin was a gifted artist, an avid fisherman and spent most of his leisure time on fishing trips.

A funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Davis Mortuary Service 6820 Westbank Expressway Marrero, LA. Visitation begins at 8:30a.m. Service starts at 10:00a.m. Employees of Northrop Grumman, Hydradyne Hydraulics and other family members, neighbors, and friends are invited to attend the service.

Interment: Restlawn Park Cemetery-Avondale, LA
