Leotha Willis Garrison

Leotha Willis Garrison, age 89, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, May 28, 2016 at her residence. A native of Franklin, Louisiana and a resident of Westwego for 65 years. She fought a good and courage’s fight through her illness. She is the daughter of the late John Willis and the late Odellia Willis. She was one of ten siblings.

She is survived by her children, Emily Poche, Elaine Smith, Lorraine Walker, Willie Garrison, Jr. and Carneeda Garrison; seven loving grandchildren and eight affectionate great grandchildren; her siblings, Christine Branch, Frank Bunie Willis, Judy Marie Henry, and Horace Bowels. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Odellia Willis, Dority Love, Betty Andrews, John Charles Willis, Lucy Lewis, Katie May Green and Catherine Johnson; and her husband, Willie Garrison, Sr. Relatives, and friends, pastor, officers and members of Historic True Vine Baptist Church, Life Center Cathedral, and neighboring churches are invited to attend the homegoing celebration at the Historic True Vine Baptist Church, 249 Sala Avenue, Westwego, LA. on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. until service ONLY. Interment in Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Nine Mile Point Road, Westwego, LA. Reverend Leander Johnson, officiating.
