Freddie James Vaughans, Sr.

Freddie James Vaughans Sr., departed this life on Sunday, June 19, 2016 at the age of 81 years. He was the Son of the late Sam and Teatta Vaughn; Brother of the late Frank (Leon), Thedela (Jim), Herman, Charles and Matthew (Clock) Vaughn and Great Grandfather of the late Sevion Cryer.

He is survived by his seven children Adrian Vaughans-Hunter, Freddie Jr., Tyrone, and Darrin Vaughans, Derek, Ursula Washington and Morris Washington-Vaughans; Son-In Law Mason Hunter; two daughter-In-Laws Angela and Juanita Vaughans; two sisters Vera V. Holmes and Ida V. Williams; two brothers Will and Clifton Vaughn. Seventeen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins.

Relatives and friends of the family also pastors, officers, and members of Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend a Homegoing Celebration at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church 922 Estalote Avenue, Harvey, LA on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. Minister Louis Brooks Harrison, Officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. Interment: New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery-Gretna, LA.
