Jeanette Sutton Smart

Jeanette Evelyn Sutton Smart, age 79, peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at West Jefferson Medical Center. She was born on the twin islands of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago and a resided in Harvey, LA. Jeanette was a retired educator of the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Beloved wife of the late Hubert Smart. Devoted mother of Anthony S. Smart, Sr., Stephanie A. Smart, and the late Andrea Smart. She was also instrumental in the rearing of Doretha Paul, whom she loved as a daughter. Loving grandmother of Ryanne G., Anthony Jr., and Andre Smart. Daughter of the late Percival and Martha Sutton. Sister of Cedric Sutton, Enid Heath, Selwyn Sutton, Claudette Cross, and the late Sheila Sutton Dumas. Mother-in-law of Stephanie N. Smart. Godmother of Bernard Neckles and Lana Heath; also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also priest and parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and neighboring churches are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at St Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 455 Ames Blvd. Marrero, LA on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Father Eugene Jacque, celebrant  Interment: Westlawn Cemetery-Gretna, LA
