Richard Ellis, Sr.

Richard Ellis, Sr., age 83, departed this life on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at West Jefferson Medical Center. He was a native of Waterproof, LA and a resident of Westwego, LA. Richard retired from the Light House for the Blind as a Maintenance Supervisor after 50 years of service. He served his country as a member of the United States Army. Beloved husband of the late Dorothy Willis Ellis. Devoted father of Juanita Ellis, Roslyn Williams, and the late Richard Ellis, Jr. Son of the late Harrison and Sureater Ellis. Brother of Jack Ellis, Sr., Edward Ellis, Sr., Rose Ellis Bias, and the late Harrison, David, John, Daniel and Jessie Ellis, Dorothy Jordan and Minnie Dwyer; also survived by 3 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers and members of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and all neighboring churches are invited to attend the Funeral Service at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, 1419 Fourth St., Westwego, LA on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at 10:00a.m. Pastor Woodrow Hayden, officiating

Visitation will begin at 8:30a.m. until service at the above named church.
