Tollette Wyatt George, Jr.

Tollette “Tonka” George, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Friday, June 24, 2016 at the age of 23. He was a native and resident of New Orleans, LA. Tonka as he was affectionately called by family and friends was a graduate of Edna Karr Senior High School and Alcorn State University, where he earned a degree in Recreation and Physical Education. His love for sports was exemplified at an early age and continued throughout his college years. Tonka’s talent and skills on the field earned him many honors, awards, and an athletic scholarship. His record with the high school Quarterback 4A Division has never been broken. He had many athletic accomplishments while at Alcorn also, including two SWAC Championships.

Beloved son of Rhonda Terry George and Tollette Wyatt George, Sr. Loving brother of Tiffany Marie George and Dave (Jennifer) Morris.   Devoted companion of Tyrelle Ashantti Johnson. Uncle of Carlie Mariah Williams, Jaylyn Morris and Dylan Morris. Grandson of Barbara E. Getridge Tross, Clarence Terry and the late Lillie Mae and Cleveland George. Great grandson of the late Alberta C. Moliere and Lillian Mitchell. Godson of Angela and Joseph Willis, Janice Blackwell and Clarence. Godfather of Jer’riah Williams; also survived by host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends of the family, also pastors, officers, and members of New Home Ministry, Nazarene Baptist Church, priest and parishioners of All Saints Catholic Church and all neighboring churches; Edna Karr High School Class of 2011 and Alcorn State University Class of 2016; employees of Aramark EVS University Hospital and Best Western Plus Landmark Metairie Hotel; members of St Rita Court 36 of Knight of Peter Claver are invited to attend a viewing at DAVIS MORTUARY SERVICE, 230 MONROE ST. GRETNA, LA on Friday, July 1, 2016 from 6:00p.m. - 8:00p.m.   Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 2, 2016 at Edna Karr Senior High School, 3332 Huntlee Dr., New Orleans, LA at 10:00a.m.  

Bishop LeRoy Phoenix, Sr., officiating Viewing will be held from 8:00a.m. -10:00a.m. ONLY
